So my problem is when i commect my ps3 hdd to my pc nothing shows so i go into disk managment and there it is but i asks me to select mbr or gpt for the hdd which is 250gb . Also, i know the ps3 will format it again and change it from mbr or gpt but what i want to know is which one do i choose for formatting it with my pc through a usb sata cable ???

Thanks i did that and it booted up saying install versio 2.70 or later on the ps3 but i was on 4.70.1 d-rex so do i install that instead

Yep, install 4.70.1 d-rex and you're good to go
EDIT: You could do what Kas said too.

Sorry but i already tried an updated firmware before i read this but if i break it again i will use 3.55 because i had loads of misshaps with the updated one
