- Put CFW on fat32 usb drive.
/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

- Took out old drive, put in new drive. Screen pops up "press start-select" then it says:

Tried Both USB ports.

-Tried many different USB Drives, Tried formatting to FAT32 and FATex.. USB drives flash when ps3 is looking for firmware.
-Tried updating with disc in drive, tried without
-Tried both USB ports.
-Tried installing firmware from screen that comes up when I turn on the ps3 with new hard drive, and also tried in Recovery mode.
-Made sure QA was toggled. (did button combo at network settings to confirm)
-Enabled System Update Debug
-Tried cobra CFW and normal CFW
-Tried New hard drive in PC. It works just fine. Tried it in NTFS format, and FAT32 fomat in ps3

-Put old hard drive in tried to update from Recovery. Didnt work.
-Old hard drive in, updated from XMB it works. Folder structure etc on USB must be ok.

-Downgraded with 3.55 Rogero Downgrader RSOD.PUP
-PS3 boots just fine in Rogero Downgrader.
-Doesnt update in recovery mode!


- I downloaded REBUG 3.55.4 '999' DOWNGRADER. I tried to install it in recovery mode. Same error.
- Booted back into the Rogero Downgrader cfw and verified qa was on still. It was.
- Installed REBUG 3.55.4 '999' DOWNGRADER via xmb update from storage media. It installed no problem.
- now on Rebug 3.55

- Booted into recovery, tried installing the Kmeaw again, same error... instead of 9.99 the error message said 3.55 now.

How do I get it to update in recovery mode???? It seems I can upgrade/downgrade no problem in the xmb, but never in recovery. I need to be able to install in recovery so I can get the new hard drive running.

Please anyone have any suggestions I've been trying to figure this out for 2 weeks now

Bro you need the rogero downgrader v3.7 to move to any firmware

I've already used that file to downgrade. I will do it again, just to try.

Once its downgraded, what should I try to do first? And what drive should I put in the PS3.. New one I want to use, or original drive?
