I;m getting a ps3 thats already on OFW 3.55.


I believe i am correct when i say that E3 flasher is only neccesary to downgrade to 3.55, not to jailbreak it. Am i correct? will i be able to jailbreak my console thats already on OFW 3.55 without the use of an e3 flasher?

Yes, you are correct. Once a PS3 is flashed to 3.55 OFW, you can install a .PUP Update file such as 3.55 kmeaw and you will be jailbroken. Then you can QA Flag, and go up to a 4.xx CFW.

First off, its very odd that your able to find a system 3.55 OFW. that means the system never played online since manufactured, if so that's awesome but make sure that all function is in working order. Now about E3FLASHER is for NOR-chip only not NAND, so if that's the case than yes.
