No it Isn't, 3.55 OFW is better. Then you can upgrade to 3.55 CFW than to any other Firmware you want (I'm on 4.65 ITA Dex).

3.55 is heaps better than 3.01 because you can jailbreak 3.55

3.55 ofw is better as it is the firmware required to jailbreak your ps3. Also 3.01 is a verrrryy old firmware so j don't know why u were recommended to download that fw
