I am on Dex 4.50 ITA. For Minecraft I always get the error 800010009. I've tried BD Mirror, Internal, Checked the update & checked the permissions. But it always ended with the error. For Call of Duty games they always give me a black screen. Older Cods mostly. So I was told to update to a higher firmware but what I wanted to know was:

• Is it safe for me to update it?
  
• How do I update it?
  
• What's the highest update for a Dex ITA?
  
• Are there any problems?
  
• Can my console get bricked?

Black screen is because you're on DEX. Change your system to release mode, and it may run the game without blackscreen. It works for W@W.

How do I change it to release mode?

In Debug Settings, there should be something showing System Software Mode. Change that to Release mode. Restart PS3.
