If you switch to DEX and go into debug settings you can turn off the blu-ray player or you can use Ferrox No-BD CFW.

But to go to DEX he would need to run some homebrew so that would not work the best bet would be install a CFW with no blu-ray on it as suggested above. That way you could switch to DEX and disable the blu-ray player
