You can do it like in this vid, Ive done it loads of times & got many cids from ylod consoles this way.

Easier way is to cut round the nor chip then dump the bios, you need the nor chip off the board as the board will drain the E3 power a bit so you will not be able to get a good dump

This is a slim mobo i cut up to get the cid, not pretty but got the job done.

thanks shall i just solder the nor chip off and then clip it into the e3 flasher also can you buy them the external power source or can i make it myself i was thinking of taking my ps3 fat psu apart and solder some wires to the e3 flasher but dont think it would work

If you don't care about the board i would say to cut around it like i have done in the picture above as its very easy to break or bend the small pins on the nor chip when you take it off the mobo.

If you take the chip off you need to make sure there's no solder bridges between the pins, if there are you will need a soldering iron & wick to clean them off, its a very delicate operation.

Any bent pins use a small needle/pin with a magnifying glass to straighten them up, be careful as they snap easy.

PS3 power supply is 12 & 5 volts output so its to high to use, you need 3.3 volts.

I use a old desktop power supply, if you aint got one then you could find something else with 3.3 volts output, phone charger etc...

You do know that you could have just cut the traces on the board rather than spending time cutting it? Just simply leave heavy score marks around the chip.



You can use a PSU

You might as well chop it off as board will be unsellable with loads of deep cuts on it

I know you can use PSU but he aint got one, as long as its 3.3 volts should be ok
