Do you have skype?

Even if it was custom made, you should have a boot logo that identifies the CFW from other firmwares.

Yes, I am. If I were you, I would use a downgrader and go to a more known and functional firmware. I would recommend using a 3.55 Rogero Downgrader from You must login or register to view this content. Then, I would go to 3.55 OFW which can be found You must login or register to view this content. After updating to that, I would go to 3.55 Kmeaw which you can download from You must login or register to view this content. After updating to 3.55 Kmeaw, I would recommend going to 4.70.1 REX. You can download that from You must login or register to view this content.Once you have done that, you can download your chosen homebrew packages and start modding your games.

Make sure to rename each update file to PS3UPDAT.PUP and place them in this directory of your PS3. All of the capitalization needs to be the same.

Well, you need a USB. Inside the root of the USB, make a folder called PS3 with that capitalization. Next, make a folder inside the PS3 Folder called UPDATE with that capitalization. One by one, download each of the files I linked you and starting with the Rogero Downgrader, rename that to PS3UPDAT.PUP with that capitalization as well. After you have done that, plug the USB in the right slot of the PS3 and open the Recovery Menu in order to ensure the safest way of updating. You can do this by making sure the PS3 is off and then holding the power button until you hear 2 normal beeps, then 2 rapid beeps. After you hear those, you can let go and you can plug your controller in. Go over to System Update on the menu and it should say Press Start + Select to start reading the USB. It will start reading it and then name the name of the CFW you inserted on the USB. You just want to go through that process for each one of them in that order.
