My question is.

Can I go straight from 3.55 ofw to 4.75.1 rebug or what would you prefer?
Or should I go to 4.76 lite rebug?
Any body that can help please comment.

No you cannot. You must be jail broken I believe. I also recommend 4.75 over 76 over stability and compatibility.

No, you cannot. You first must jailbreak it by going to a 3.55 CFW then you can go to your rebug firmware. Make sure it is REX since you have not converted to D-REX. I would recommend going to 3.55 Kmeaw which can be found You must login or register to view this content.

Make sure the folders are named PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP with that capitalization as well.
