You might have a problem with your fan. Have you ever replaced it?

Is your PS3 in an enclosed area or anything? Also is there alot of dust in the ps3 or the fan? If its a fat PS3 then you could try leaving the top cover off while its on.

There are many things you can do... but first?

- What PS3 do you have PS3 PHAT or Slimline?

- What is the CECH number (Determining how old your console is)

If you didn't know some old consoles had very poor ways of keeping cool... were as inside the vent holes would be blocked...

Some alternatives are using a fan mod which you can buy on Amazon or Ebay for a chaep price... you should also consider buying a laptop fan... don't buy a fan which blows air into the exhaust since you will be creating a dust current...

This is the fan mod switch

have u tried running your fan at a higher speed? i would recommend changing fan speed with webman or whatever and just like clean out your consle of dust and stuff that might have built up, if that fails try sticking your ps3 in the fridge when updating

This is a PHAT and is really old... CECHA-G are nands and the oldest consoles... CECH-H03 is a nor console and is just after CECH-G03... so that is the first nor console. I would suggest using a cooling fan.

just an update of putting ps3 in fridge.... maybe u shouldn't do that xD it would get rather cold and wet from condensation and might not be good for the fridge having that amount of heat in it :p
