Don't know if there is a fix for this since a lot of people have complained that there PS3 is freezing... you could use a camcorder to record your gameplay.

yeah thts the problem with that application, it only really works for older games and older cfw's but yes i would suggest a HD camera pointing at your tv, either this or gamecaptures like HD pvr's are cheaper than elgato and Avid media so an HD pvr would be your best bet
