What rebug DEX or cex

First of all, if it's your first CFW PS3 then you need to use a 3.55 OFW download so you are able to install CFW on it. (Assuming it's on a lower OFW) Secondly, it depends on what you're aiming for. If you want to mod games using TMAPI (DEX) then you need to follow the tutorial on this site that guides you through the CEX>EX process. Now, if you want to mod games with just CCAPI (CEX) then you can basically just go straight to Rebug 4.75.

P.S: When you are installing CFW, do not ever have an Ethernet cable plugged in (or even connected to Internet for that matter) while it's updating to a CFW. Do not have any disc inserted either. As that will cause it to update you to a OFW by accident.

Ok say if I just got my ofw 3.55 PS3 today can I just straight away install rebug cex and change from cex to dex??

You can yes, as long as you follow the CEX2DEX tutorial here on this site carefully and thoroughly. Please be aware that if you mess up a single step during the process, you're at high risk of getting your PS3 bricked. So please make sure to pay attention.

So what is the difference between CEX and DEX? Or at least the TMAPI and CCAPI in terms of modding. I'm getting a 3.55 OFW in a few days and I'm just trying to figure out exactly what to do with it after i get the 3.55 Kmeaw file installed.
