I'm very new to all this and need some help. I bought a PS3 with CFW from a local person, I was told it has latest version of Rebug spoofed to 4.76. Before I bought it, he showed me it was working and that indeed it was on Rebug, and how to switch from CEX to DEX and vice versa. When I came home and plugged it in basically it shows me "Corrupted Data" under "Game". Below is a screenshot. I didn't update the firmware or anything, all I did was start the PS3 to look for the "Install package" icon in order to install Multiman.

Am I missing something? Am I still on CFW or did it somehow get screwed up? And am I still on 3.55 OFW? When I check the firmware version via system information, it says 4.76.

I understand that I can try installing another CFW via USB but before messing around with it and risking making it worse, I'd like to know what's wrong with it. What I would like to do is switch to the latest version of Rogero and install Multiman? Please help, and thanks in advance!!

Does it have the Install PKG Files below the Game section of Your PS3? From the looks of it! That don't look like it's on Rebug! You probably got scammed!

Nope, the only thing there is "Corrupted Data" and above is the PS Store icon and the rest. When he was showing it to me, I saw the CFW programs(Multiman etc) so I know for sure it was on CFW. When I brought it home, I did plug in the ethernet cord but I didn't update the firmware. Plus the firmware couldn't have updated by itself by the time I turned on the PS3 and clicked over to the Game menu, right?. He may very well have switched the PS3 on me when he was unplugging it from his TV. Luckily I only paid about $30 more than what regular PS3s are going for, but I will have to go through the hassle of shipping it to someone to downgrade.

I may be wrong , but by the looks of it! It could be a different CFW other than Rebug , because I know that Rebug has a Red colored PS icon! He probably showed You the Modded system for proof , but when it came to it being Shipped to You it wasn't as promising as You probably thought it was! That sucks if what I'm saying is True! I'll tell You something! Check out this website I got Mine from! They're 100% legit! It's called ModzLink.com! I'm not sure if they still sell Pre-Modded systems as of now , but when I got Mine they were selling it! They are probably selling PS3's on 3.55 OFW and also E3 Flashers to downgrade it back to 3.55 OFW! Good luck!

Actually I bought it in person and he demoed it right in front of me, but he might have had a second ps3 hidden in there from which he was demoing, it was hard to tell because he had a bunch of stuff in front of his tv. But anyway, the ps3 is a 2001A model and is downgradable so I'm just gonna send it to someone to downgrade it for me. My friend told me of a reputable downgrade service he used, seems like the most hassle-free way because I'm not too good at tinkering with electronics and I don't want to risk bricking it.

Have You tried contacting the seller by any chance? You should talk to the seller about it , because You need help for it and that seller should have the answer to the Corrupted Data problem! Before doing so , check if You can install PKG Files!
