Take the .dlls and such from your new ccapi 2.70 folder and replace the ones in your tools folders.

That doesn't work at all. There's no rtm tool out there that's using the new CCAPI 2.70.

Idk if there is a way because most tools will use old ccapi. I know all of mine do..

So something might have to give if you want it to work.
