I just read somewhere that all phat models can be downgraded, is that correct? It just depends on the model as to wether it's NOR or NAND? Thanks for the link Kam.

All PHAT Models CAN be downgraded. I believe all PHAT are NAND as well. While only some models of the Slim can be downgraded and the Super Slim can't be downgraded at all. Slims are NOR's. It does depend on the model as to whether it is a NOR or NAND. No problem

it tells you everything on that table. Not all fats are NANDS. All slims(regular) are NOR, but unless it was manufactured with 3.55 or lower, you cannot downgrade it.
You need a console that was manufactured with 3.55 or lower firmware, with a NAND or NOR chip, depending on what type of flasher you are trying to use.

Yeah simply use this:

CECH A-G = NAND

CECH H and above is Nor

An E3 can downgrade nor and an Teensy/Progskeet can downgrade Nands, all fats can be downgraded...

Yeah the one I'm getting is CECHK 03 so it's NOR. I won't know the firmware on it till later on. It was lower than 3.55 when released 2.16 or 2.30.

You'll be able to downgrade that. You'll need to use an E3 Flasher since it is a NOR.

Yeah I'm going to attempt it myself, I've studied a few videos on how the console is disassembled. I also have a second phat PS3 which I'll be attempting a YLOD fix on. Nothing like jumping in at the deep end
