There is no way of telling if you can trust this guy or not, if he is on Facebook ask people. Like if he's in a group ask the people in that group if he is legit. If I were you I would go on eBay, make sure the seller has at least a 97% positive feedback. I been shopping on eBay for 4 years and never been scammed.

He has shown me proof that his system is jailbroken and stuff like that, but he is only selling it for 80$ which is where I am worried the most.

I asked him why he is selling it so low and he says he needs cash asap and that he is selling it for so little because he doesn't use it anymore.

Well I guess you can try it, $80 is that much to lose. And if he does scam you keep the receipt that shows that you sent the PS3 to him and you can file a report to the FBI. I know this because I was scammed, the guy took my PS3 and put my PayPal in the red $1000 and the FBI said I had no proof. I was nice to him too and he scammed me like that so don't trust anyone you don't know until you get your item.
