Yes, you can format the harddrive without losing your jailbreak.


1. Boot ps3 in recovery mode
2. select option "Restore Ps3 System"
This will wipe everything, games, saves, settings, homebrew etc.

after it is done you will be brought to a black screen asking for the last syscall(whatever custom firmware you had installed)

3. Reinstall your cfw

ok its because it jitters and lags and i have anotherone with exact same stuff on it and it dosnt

Yes you can wipe your ps3, I have done this before, it will also speed up your ps3 loads if you have loads of junk on it before. Also the only thing that would put you back to ofw is System updating.

Yes but remember you'll have to install everything back after like CCAPI.etc make sure you don't have a disk in too!
