(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok so recently my son updated his PS3 to version 4.75 in order to play the new guitar hero live game. Well that's fine except he has a multiman and it won't work now that we updated the PS3. We have gotten error codes 80010017 and 80028ED4. I guess when he did the update the multiMAN was unplugged from the system. Not sure if that was the right thing to do or not. The PS3 and multiman were a gift from my sons stepdad ans we don't have any of the stuff to fix it if need be his step dad does and he doesn't live were we do. So if anyone has any suggestions on how it fix any of this without wiping the system that would be great.

Moved to PS3 Mod Questions. You do realize you need the guitar to play it, right? Guitars from previous GH games won't work.

Did he install a 4.75 CUSTOM firmware or did he install a 4.75 OFFICIAL firmware?

We own the new guitar hero game that included the guitar. We knew from the get go that the old guitars wouldn't work with the new game.

I'm not tech savvy at all. All I inow is that when we inserted the guitar hero game disc it told us we needed to update the system in order to play the new game. So that's what we did and when we went to play games off the multiman it wouldn't work and gave us error codes.

Is ofw official firmware? I have no idea. All I know is what the guitar hero live game told us we needed to do. Shoot I'm not even sure what firmware is. Like I said I'm not tech savvy at all.

SOrry to say, but it's true. The biggest thing you do not do when you have custom firmware is update the console to sony's official firmware. There are custom firmwares that you download on pc and update manually through usb flash drive or etc, otherwise you will lose your jailbreak. His step dad flashed it, which is what you will need to have done again in order to fix it.

Ok so can you explain to me what it means to flash it? Also what do you mean when you say you will lose your jailbreak? Like I've said I'm not tech savvy and have no idea what any of the tech terms mean. But more or less what you're telling me is that we need to have the official firmware taken off and custom firmware installed?

1. There is a memory chip on the motherboard of the ps3 and it requires a hardware flasher (a physical tool) in order to flash it, which basically unlocks it and allows us to install some stuff we need to downgrade it to firmware 3.55, which is needed to install a custom firmware.

2. Jailbreak is unlocking pretty much
Jailbreak is what you had before you guys updated it to sony's official firmware. It is what allowed you to install multiman and etc. You were on a custom firmware but now you are not.

3. pretty much. Smile
