(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); so i have a jailbroken ps3 on rebug 4.75 d-rex but i want to record some ofw mod menus, could i take out the current hdd and use the second one for all the backups without a problem?

if i use the second hdd i will install multiman and fan controller (to loading games and changing fan speed)

now here are my questions:

will i lose all my users? (when i go back to the old hdd)
will i lose all my pkg's? (when i go back to the old hdd)
will my cfw mess up?

are users/pkg's saved on hdd or not? i would really like to put the original hdd back in and still have everything like it was before.

thanks in advance Winky Winky

Are you high?
Everything is saved on the HDD so if you switch HDD then switch back, nothing will be lost. But you will most likely end up with a soft brick every HDD switch (unless they're the same firmware I think?)

So if you would prefer to be as safe as possible then I recommend using E3 Flasher to dual boot between HDDs.

this one is from my old ps3 (got ylod) and im 95% sure they where on the same cfw, but are you sure about that? i dont think fw is saved on the hdd Winky Winky oh and i dont have a e3 ;(

so should i just switch them out now and see what happens? if it messes up will i be able to jst put the old one back in and be safe?

I'm pretty sure you cannot just swap another hdd in it. It will mandatory make you reformat that new hdd to the ps3. If you put the old one back after that it will make you reformat that one too..

Everything will be wiped..games ,homebrew ,settings..

It will wipe your cfw but not your jailbreak. You will have to reinstall cfw.

Although I wonder if you copy everything from filezilla from main ps3 to a backup hdd if it would work..who knows..its probably not worth trying if you don't want to lose your stuff though..

The firmware is stored on the HDD, the only way I can think of doing it safely (possibly) without an E3 Flasher is to clone the main HDD to the second HDD on PC, which can be hard to do as you can't use Windows to do that because PS3 HDDs can't be read by Windows.

Although as soon as you edit anything on one HDD, you will end up with a soft brick when ever you switch it again.
