(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi Everyone,

Hope you can help me with my dilemma.

so i bought a PS3 yesterday and to my surprise it was jailbroken. i wanted to try how it feels like to have a jailbroken one so i decided to purchase it anyway. the thing is it is still running a pretty outdated CFW(3.55) and Multiman (1.16.11) so i wanted to update it to play the latest games.

i have a CEX system i'm not sure what CFW i have (i checked system info and it just shows 3.55) and from reading several topics here and some i have seen a procedure on how to update multiman. downloaded the .pkg file and copied it on a fat32 usb.

here's what i was gonna do.

Delete Old Multiman (1.16.11)
Go to "*Install Package Files"
Run Multiman 4.76 BASE

is this correct? do i have anything else to do. don't wanna end up with a bricked system. thanks!

i'll be updating this thread once i read some more in installing a CFW (i'm eyeing on REBUG 4.76 LITE)

UPDATE: Will be closing this thread, i was able to update to multiman, cfw and rebug toolbox. thanks to Dirty Smasher, 100 REP points for you.

Rebug will be a good cfw to install, then install the latest multiman, use right usb port on ps3 & make sure you have no game in BD drive before you start.

If you need anymore help quote this post so i can get back to you quicker.

I would delete multiman from xmb then update it to v04.76.00

If you delete & then update multiman you wont lose your installed games

Get it You must login or register to view this content.

Install over the top of the 3.55 cfw you got via usb, make sure n game in BD drive (important).

Yes install rebug toolbox, it comes built into rebug under packages/ps3 hdd.

It has many uses but you probably wont need most of them, look on rebug website for its uses.

thanks! you've been really helpful.

btw if it's alright (or not against forum rules) can you send me a link on stuff that would be a good addition to a jailbreaked PS3?
