A thought occurred to me today that could change the OFW modding community entirely.

My idea was to be able to FTP (file transfer) on an OFW PS3.

So I came across a plugin for the PS3 on CFW that would allow you to FTP your PS3 to your laptop in the Xmb menu without using any homebrew.

If I made a backup with this plugin installed into the /Hdd0 and my friend restored the backup, would he be able to use this plugin seeing that he is not actually running a homebrew application, but a plugin in the plugins folder?

Tell me if I'm stupid and this will completely not work

A side question- If I Made a modded eboot on Black Ops 2,backed it up and have a friend restore it, would he have the mods in the eboot?(Antiban,Wallhack,etc)

A side side question, if I put a SPRX mod menu in the Tmp folder and had an eboot that would run it, could a friend restore this backup and be able to use the SPRX mod menu?

well... there is no way to FTP with a OFW PS3 you cannot connect it to the computer like you can with the CFW PS3

As you can see he installs the FTP server on a CFW and then goes to OFW and he can still connect his PS3 to his PC.

Yet it still requires a Jailbreak.

only reason why your could use ftp on xmb screen ''without'' any homebrew is not completly true cuz mostly webman loads that plugin so than you need to have webman installed on the ofw what can't

This is something I have also wondered. It would be great to know what files get copied in a data transfer. But I can tell you that modified eboots do NOT work on OFW no matter what so the answer to your side questions is no. :/ So far the only useful files I can confirm to work when transferred to OFW are Comments (mecomment.dat), Patches (patch_mp.ff), GTA scrips (common.rpf) , and some other general XMB and save data files. Oh and if u know how to resign games then you can transfer free games.

No CFW plugin/package will work without a jailbroken PS3.
