(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); CFW Used: Rebug 4.75.3 REX + Cobra 7.1
Firmware: 4.75 DEX
LV2 Kernel: DEX
Target Type: DEX
Model: CECHL01

I was in Rebug Toolbox going to switch back from DEX to CEX so I could use CCAPI and I set the XMB menu option back to Retail and it asked for a PS3 restart, so I restarted it. When the PS3 had booted up I was greeted with a Red Screen of Death. Is there any way to fix this problem?

Reinstall firmware? If you changed only XMB type your targetid unchanged and you should use d-rex firmware.
But it could be problems with nor memory, because you have L model.

I'm only able to get into the Recovery Menu so would I just put a D-REX FW on my USB and update from that? And what do you mean a problem with my NOR memory?

Update: I put Rebug 4.76.1 D-REX on my USB and updated it from the recovery menu and it fixed the RSOD. Now I'm going to use the 999 Downgrader to go to 3.55 and install Rebug 4.76.1 REX + Cobra 7.1 on my PS3.

Oh, I'm sure my chip didn't die yet. I updated to Rebug 4.76.1 REX + Cobra 7.2 and I've got all of my homebrew running perfectly fine.

If my NOR chip were to die, are there replacements you can purchase from other users? Or would it just be best to buy a new console?

Replacing the chip 100% solves that problem, but we have another software solution which could work not so well, just google: ps3 rsod fix.
