I use PSN Patch latest version to protect my CFW from being detected while online. PSN patch is all you need really. However it will not protect you from video game modding. PSNPatch once activated emulates OFW so sony cannot detect homebrew or CFW on your system preventing possible CID bans.

Be smart with it, use psninja, and psnpatch and disable custom firmware and spoof your CID, i have been playing for about three years with no cid ban. (knock on wood).
