(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I got a E3 flasher today, I got pretty happy and since opening my PS3 was easy enough I thought he rest would be a smooth process too.

Turns out it was the complete opposite of "smooth process"

It's a FAT CECHJ model.

Basically I began at 4PM, got the E3 hooked up and straight away I was surprised how loose the clip was, I tried many methods. Finally I managed to get going a few hours later once I stuck a lot of tape on it.

However when getting the dumps, it would give me an error about needing to put more pressure.

So I put 5 taped coins on top of the nor clip, so that it would be pushing the clip down onto the NOR chip.

Yay! I though, as the dumps where being written to my SD card.

First dump done, I checked it, it failed 108 out of 130 tests in the dump checker, therefore it was a very bad dump.

I adjusted the clip. After long attempts I finally got it going. I got my 3 valid dumps all the same and passed.

I took the most recent dump, and flashed the image in the dump checker.

Now with that patched. I put the SD back in the E3

Put em all down, waited about 5 minutes and it completed putting the patched dump to the PS3 without any issues according to the E3.

So I thought, everything must be good, so I went and assembled it all back together.

Once done, I got a 999 downgrader pup on my USB, and got ready to install the downgrader.

However, as I turned the PS3 on, it told me that the system could not start up. So I plugged my controller on the left, and my USB on the right.

I tried installing the PUP firmware, but the system just kept hanging on "checking, please wait"

I decided to go into safe mode and try restoring the file system, it told me the hard drive could not be accessed. Weird...

I tried doing the installation under safe mode, yet it still hangs on checking, please wait.

I took the hard drive out, and put it back in. Now when I try resorting the file system, it tells me a serious error occurred in safe mode.

And the update still doesn't work in safe mode, or the system could not start up mode, still shows "checking please wait"

Not sure what to do at this point. Started it at 4PM, been at it since 11:30PM. So I'm really pissed that I wasted all the time and I just fucked up the PS3.

I'm hoping someone could assist me, I still also got the 3 valid dumps that are not patched. Maybe I could install them to the PS3, or maybe someone has any other idea.

Thanks for reading and I hope someone could help me with this.

So what you're saying is that this is your first time downgrading?

Yeah my first time and I fucked up and now I have no idea what to try.

I was at it from 4PM till 11PM, only once I got the patched dump on the PS3, it doesn't boot and won't take the firmware

I read that if something like the Blue ray drive isn't working or connected properly, then it will hang on that message if you try to update the software

I also forgot to mention, there's a disc inside the drive, pressing eject makes the blue light flash but the disc doesn't attempt to eject. Could it be my blue ray drive ribbon isn't connected properly?

If your ps3 is running ok (not in the middle of a downgrade/aka able to turn off and then turn it back on without GLOD) then follow this:

1. Turn the console off, flip the switch in the back to off (pull the power cord if its a slim)
2. While holding the eject button, flip the switch in the back to on (plug in the power cord if its a slim) while continuing to hold eject.

The console should power on with the fan at max, and after a few seconds should spit the disc out.

It MIGHT not work at the stage you are at, but it's worth a try.
