Post: LV2 Kernel CEX>DEX Issue
01-26-2016, 12:20 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello everyone! I can't manage to get my SPRX loading in GTA V. I looked for help and someone asked me if my LV2 Kernel is on DEX.

I looked it up and apparently my LV2 Kernel is still on its Retail setting (CEX). And my target type is on DEX.

Here comes my confusion: The person who helped me told me that I can only run SPRXs while both settings are on DEX. Although.... Some days ago I fully restored my playstation and reinstalled my firmware. Everything works perfect.

Before I did this recovery, My LV2 Kernel was also on CEX and my Target Type on DEX, yet I was still capable of properly running a SPRX file ingame. (It shouldn't be the issue if you'd ask me)

If it's really important, how do I get both settings on DEX without bricking or confusing my console? I already swapped LV2 Kernel long ago and still have the Norbin file on my computer.

I hope this topic isn't too confusing. I'm from Holland, if anyone speaks Dutch, I might get a chance of explaining what's wrong in a more logical perspective.

Thank you in advance!Wtf

Be happy you're not the only one who has that problem, i also have no idea how did that happen to my console, and i could still run a paid sprx on dex while my lv2 is on cex and my target on dex! this is due to disabling the syscalls and deleting history files, but without doing that it sticks with both on dex!

i have bricked mine yesterday and i'm willing to go back and fix that by doing everything all over again

Is it comepletely bricked? Or do you mean that functions do not operate properly anymore?

Atleast we almost share the same fate right now.. Let's hope there is a fix for this.. But do we need the 'disable syscalls and delete history' function?

I assume you're are a rebug firmware? rebug isnt a true dex or whatever you want to call it, It has Cex+Dex on the information page and I can use Sprx's fine.

In Rebug toolbox! Go all the way to the right and go all the way to bottom until you see dump eid root key , then click on it and it'll ask if you want to dump it into your dev_hdd0/game/RBGTLBOXX/USIRDIR , click yes , then go left and you'll see DEX/CEX! Go to the second option and click on that and it'll notify you after it found the eid root key and it'll also ask you if you want to convert from CEX to DEX , click yes , then go to the first option , then click on it and it'll notify you that it switched to DEX and that you'll need click on ok to reboot your PS3! After it's done , then go back into Rebug toolbox and click on system information! Now your on DEX for both! If you want to ever go back to CEX , then click on the second option and click ok to reboot your PS3! Hope this helps!

Hey Jqq! Unfortunately my LV2 Kernel is still on CEX. I have no clue what's going on.

And as for Tristan. Yes I'm on REBUG 4.75.3 D-REX.

It's giving me to plug my controller and start restoring but when i press START&SELECT they don't come up with any other FW to flash, so yeah i think i'll have to put everything as new again

You should get DEX+DEX on the information page even if you disable syscalls Winky Winky it doesn't have to be changed!

Did you install Rebug 4.75.3 D-REX after converting to DEX?

I was told that if your qa flag is enabled , then there's no need of downgrading back to a lower firmware just to install a different CFW! I was also told that if it wasn't qa flagged , then you'll need to downgrade back to a lower firmware and I guess install another firmware and do some other stuff , which I forgot , but you always have to make sure to enable qa flag if it isn't! I have the link to the video if you want to check it out?
