You need to go to 3.55 CFW first. I'd recommend something like 3.55 Kmeaw.

In the thread, you said that you are going Rebug 4.76.1. Are you sure you are using 3.55 Kmeaw?

ok i was on dex 4.76.1 i then downgraded my ps3 back to a 3.55 so that means im on 3.55 OFW so im trying to install kmeaw but it says THE DATA IS CORRUPTED ERROR CODE 80029CCA

You are on OFW 3.55(official firmware). It's not really a problem, but notice Kam is saying CFW(custom firmware). The point being to start from somewhere else.

Then, from there, install a custom firmware of your choice.

If it won't go through, verify your folder structure on your fat32 formatted usb drive

I'm not positive this is possible on OFW 3.55, but try:

Download, install and run QA flag.
It should beep and restart.
