1. Boot your ps3 into recovery
2. Install You must login or register to view this content.
This will bypass the RSOD
3. Install and run You must login or register to view this content.
4. Install a cfw of your choice.

Already tried that, still gets corrupted. We tried a few more things but still no luck. Instead of restoring the HDD on another system he says it's too much trouble. Just wants to sell it.

Do you still need assistance with your question or have you already decided what you wish to do with your console?

hey i had the same issue not long ago and i thought nothing worked but then i switch hard drive and switched back to old one and it worked what i did was, installed 3.55 rogero downrader, then installed rebug toolbox and entered Factory Service Mode with the RSOD fix on usb in right port, still had rsod, so i installed 4.76 ferrox to bypass then installed the rsod fix.pkg then tried installing rebug still RSOD, so i looked around and some guy had some issue and did same thing and nothing, then he later said that he switched hdds and it worked, so if you tired both previous options then install 4.76 ferrox then do what i said before then install firmware you want, you will still have RSOD, then turn off ps3 and put a different hdd in it for a xbox or a different ps3 don't matter then install same cfw as you did to other hdd it should then boot up then switch back to your old hdd, it should now boot up with no rsod Smile that how i fixed mine, good luck only other fix is a good nor back up but if this happened from bad nor flash. First try what i said before if it fails you will need a good nor flash to fix it then have to do the same thing as before if it fails will work for sure then but you probably don't have a original dump or flasher so don't worry about last part just do what i said before all rsod is, is bad sectors with need fixing and what i said before should work, you only need original back up if all fails Smile
