To answer your questions, I do believe Rebug is the best CFW right now. I think you should get Rebug 4.75.3 if you intend to stay on CEX/REX since CCAPI is not supported in later versions. To lower your risk of being banned, I'd recommend you use PSNPatch.

I prefer Rebug 4.46 D-REX. CCAPI is a method of connecting tools and menus to the PS3 on both CEX and DEX, You must login or register to view this content. You can use psnpatch, or CCAPI, the program on the computer, has a button you click to active OFW mode, which does the same thing. psnpatch is great for patching games. (Making a higher fw game playable on lower fw.... Say a game was released for 4.75 consoles, it won't run on 4.46, so you use psnpatch to patch it.)

I would highly recommend DEX if you can. It is a lot better and most mod menus nowadays are only made for DEX.

Make sure qa flag your console, better now than later

Okay Kam i'll try and use DEX, some people say DEX is more complicated and for experienced modders really, but as you say more mod menu's are on DEX i guess i'll transferring to DEX then, by any chance are patches better than back ups? Are jailbroken mod menus better than non jailbroken mod menu's likes CFG's, which need infecting
