I turned it on and it would stay on for 2 seconds then die and LEDs would go off. I messed with it a little bit and got a game out of it and now it goes about 10-13 seconds before going dead. I'm not sure what is wrong with it. Any tips or suggestions?

Before it boots off do you see a yellow light ? This is known as YLOD or (yellow light of death)

Sure don't, its just dies turns off and LEDs go off. But I can press the power button and the red light comes on, and I can spam the eject button and it beeps but no lights.

Exactly the same happened to me 2 years ago when I bought a new ps3, brought it back and it turned out to be a bad hard drive. Got a new console under warranty and that one worked out fine but I guess that’s not going to work out for you
My best guess is that your HDD has gone bad. If you choose to update go for a hybride.

The only other harddrive I have is my cfw one and I don't think I can put that into a ofw??

Well, I’ve gotten a 1 TB hybrid for my ps3 and it suitable for the ps4 aswell. But the SSD part is only useful for the OS part of the console, the HDD is for games but it starts up the system so much quicker.
The costs for HDD or hybrid are about the same (at least in the Netherlands it is).
