Post: TMAPI freezing my ps3 every single time. Any help?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My issue: I am using Rebug 4.78 D-REX on my ps3 and have ProDG Debugger and Target Manager installed on my pc.
I followed the tutorial of how to set it all up from BAss Haxor (video on youtube)
So I connect with TMAPI, which works, then I boot up ProDG Debugger and put auto update on.
I start the game up, and it recognizes the proces (eboot.bin shows up in debugger), but then it freezes.
While I haven't even pressed attach to proces yet.

So second try, I turn off auto update, start up game and the game freezes.
So third try I go to my Debug settings and change my connection settings from SINGLE SETTINGS to DUAL SETTINGS.
Game boots up fine but of course ProDG Debugger won't recognize any proces now.
So I think I excluded the eboot.bin to be the problem.

So 4th try, different game, this time Dark Souls 2. Settings put back to SINGLE SETTINGS.
Connect TMAPI again, start up Dark Souls 2 with debug eboot in place and this time it doesn't freeze.
Then I attach ProDG debugger, and it freezes my game (like expected, cause it's supposed to freeze when you do that), I press the green "play" button, but to no avail.
My ps3 froze again.

So it freezes either whenever I just start up a game, or when I attach ProDG Debugger... in any case, it freezes.
I think CCAPI does work if I install it, but I wouldn't want to do that since you don't have the debugger functions then.

What can I do to resolve this? Or did I just pick 2 games which are incompatible with rtm?

So now I tried Assault Horizon, connected with TMAPI on xmb, started up the game, loaded a level, and then started to auto update ProDG debugger, and attached the process.

It freezed the game and I was able to press the green play button to unfreeze it.

Might need to try the same approach with other games, not sure what the experience of you forum readers is.

Try to follow this tutorial:

That should help you out.

Thanks for replying, but like I mentioned I already followed that video step by step.

I did manage to get TMAPI to work to some degree, since it worked with Ace Combat Assault Horizon.
So I tried Lost Planet Extreme Condition again, and it still freezes when booting up the game, same with Dark Souls 2.

So TMAPI only seems to work for games with light memory usage like Ace Combat and all the generic COD's.

Would love to hear about a solution though.

Currently running the old fashioned Windows 7.

I'm currently thinking the problem lies with my custom firmware. I disabled my internet on my ps3, and instead of freezing on startup of a game, it started throwing errors at me like ps3 system not running correctly, if you can't restart, try reinstalling firmware..

So I tried to resolve that with a new install, and keep the settings as the firmware sets them (Rebug 4.78 DREX) and now my game is back to freezing on black screen again (even with internet disabled)

Maybe try lowering your firmware..

I tried this a year ago too, pretty sure I was using that firmware at the time, so I am positive the problem will occur with that firmware as well.

However I just made a post to enlighten you all over on the other hacking site, where I also asked for help which I will now post here:

So I ended up not bothering with trying to RTM on the original game I was playing, switched to Dark Souls 2, but that game is a disaster reinstalling every single time I boot up the game so didn't get further with that (it also froze eventually a few times during loading screens when connecting target manager)
but I am sure I would have been able to get that game to work if I had connected later on.

Then I tried Ace Combat Assault Horizon, and I tried loading the game up completely, going into a mission and play and THEN connect Target Manager and the Debugger, which froze the game, and I was able to unfreeze it like I was supposed to, so I was able to connect and attach everything I needed to, even NetCheat via TMAPI.

Eventually I was like why won't Lost Planet Extreme Condition work then... and I still don't know cause the game just decides to freeze even after reinstalling the original updates. (and thus overwriting the debug eboot). If I connect Target Manager before launching the game it gives a black screen and if I don't and just start it up, it goes straight to an error message roughly going like this: "This system cannot run correctly, try pressing the PS button to restart, if that doesn't work plug in your usb and reinstall firmware"

If it has to do with memory limitations, how come Destiny does work for people(last big AAA title on PS3 and therefor maybe the most memory intensive)

Anyway, NetCheat and TMAPI is great and runs sooooo fast compared to CCAPI, so thanks for that.
Too bad TMAPI or DEX in general apparently has issues with supporting RTM on all games so I switched back to CEX. ( I tried reinstalling D-rex one more time just case the firmware was corrupt but that didn't help so I properly switched, CCAPI works fine, but doesn't have the debugger to put a hardware breakpoint somewhere, so you really can't find pointers )
Maybe something I said makes someone realize what the problem in my case is and resolve it, but till then I am done with DEX once more.
I will not switch to Release mode or mess up some other setting which means I can boot up the game, but can't RTM.
It needs to work with TMAPI.

Oh yeah, so I might have singled out TMAPI being the problem by getting the other 2 games to (partially) work, so the real problem should be with the debug settings and the game ...

How would you go about trying to fix 1 specific game...

I did notice with Assault Horizon my game eboot (cex) went from 4.29 MB to 10.4 MB (debug eboot)
Dark Souls 2 decreased from 30.506 KB to 30.505 KB when making it a debug eboot and
Lost Planet 1 went from 12.728 KB to 34.985 KB... maybe it's too big?
