Post: please help me fix

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); okay so I am new to jailbreaking and the ps3. but i had my ps3 on 4.75.1 rebug rex and i was trying to convert from cex to dex in rebug toolbox, when doing so i dumped eid root, then went to rewrite it and swap lv2 kernal to dex (which I realize now must have been wrong thing to do as my ps3 is semibricked). after doing this my ps3 rebooted and I am given the message

"The system software cannot be run correctly. Press the PS button to try to restart the system.

If the system cannot be restarted, you must reinstall the system software.
Connect storage media that contains update data of version 3.40 or later, and then press the START and SELECT buttons at the same time"

and everytime i try to install either a ofw or cfw it says either "no applicable data was found" or "data is corrupted (8002F2C5)"

any suggestions to fix ?

Hello,
You must let the ps3 system after dumping eid root key.
Then when the ps3 restarts, you convert between cex/dex. You must also change level 2 kernel if not already changed.

But for now you must re-install the CFW if you're on cex - install REX, if on DEX - install D-REX. Never install the latest CFW version, if your CFW is stable and you're happy with it - stay with it.
There will always be spoofers available.

This should fix your corrupted CFW.

You must Enable QA Flag in REBUG TOOLBOX, and then restart ps3, THEN install the CFW with USB.

Guys no firmware you try can work around this error, I spent months trying to figure out how to fix this problem for myself :/.

Does your PS3 have a flasher soldered?

If not, try using a different computer, different USB, fully formatting (uncheck the Quick Format box) the USB to fat32 and re-download the firmware you want then put it in /PS3/UPDATE.

That's what I did to fix this, if your still stuck add my Skype i-itzfusion.

You must have a problem related to the complex functions.

When you yourself had the problem, you didnt see months into the future to see my post above.

If you follow all my steps of everything i have mentioned above, you should be resolved.

He cannot QA Toggle as he's on the recovery screen, and I tried reinstalling the firmware I was on multiple times but it made no difference.

If he cannot install DEX firmware or reinstall the firmware he's on then he can try what I suggested.

I think 8002F2C5 is just a cover-up for the real error, as the recovery mode cannot figure out the real error. When I managed to get it to boot to the XMB I found my actual error was 8002F997 which is a USB related error.
