I ordered this 120GB PS3 of amazon to jailbreak it, when i received it, the damn thing wouldnt turn on until i applied pressure on the top of it. Once on i found this PS3 is jailbreakable so i jailbroken it. During the process of putting it back together, i applied new thermal paste on the heatsinks justi n case it was the old thermal paste. I secured the screws tight on and shut the ps3. Some days it works fine some it dont, but everytime i always have to apply pressure on the middle where i clamped the E3 flasher clip on the ps3 motherboard.
Right now, im trying to get it to turn on but nothing, i applied pressure, its not working, just turns on seeing nothing but blue screen, and i cant turn it off because once its on the power button doesnt work, i have to pull cord from the back.
Oyea i almost forgot, its not the power supply either, i have a same model as the defective one, i swapped out power supplies and still the same problem.
If anybody have any suggestions, that would be nice please.
My last resort is taking it to a repair shop which will most likely be expensive.
What exactly do/did you need to apply pressure to get it to work? The NOR chip or the clamps/chips?
