Post: Fat ps3 flashing problem
04-01-2016, 02:43 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I aquired a cech lo1 today. I tried it out, played a game and it worked fine. I took it all apart, cleaned the old thermal paste off. Reattached the motherboard, power supply and attached the e-3 flasher. Upon powering up fan took off like a rocket beeped and shut off with flashing red lights. Now to flash I didn't put thermal paste on. Can Anyone give me some advice here? Thanks in advance!

did you put the metal plate back on it? also you should have thermal paste on the ps3 while flashing it or you risk ylod, from the sounds of things you have to much pressure on the heat sync

Yes, I put the metal plate on it. Also I was following NSC tutorial on you tube, so I have an eraser spacer between the nor clip and metal plate so there is quite a bit of pressure on it. I will put thermal paste on it and back the pressure off. ThanksYes

Did you already flash it? Is the console running or what is current condition?

You should have thermal paste on the console anytime the console is running. This thermal paste helps in transferring the heat from the chips to the heatsinks, otherwise it will overheat.

When flashing, you can exclude the disc drive and the bottom metal plate. The fan/heatsink assembly and top metal plate and clamps are needed. I suggest using a clamp to hold the clip/NOR chip down. Anything will work just be careful with metal stuff and make sure it is even and consistent or you risk shorting/pulling bad backups/writing bad backups..

Thanks DRObythePoUnD, I got it flashed ok but I updated to rogero downgrader 3.55 but I am stuck here! I have tried to update to kmeaw 3.55 but everytime it will copy ok but as soon as it tries to install I get A corrupted data error code. I cant seem to find a good download link? Also I have toggle qa and in debug settings I turned on debug update. Any suggestions?

good job.
At this point, the disc drive and everything should be installed if it isn't already.

With a button combination (can't remember it atm, i think hold r1, r2, l3, l1, l2, dpad down, ), you should see the debug settings under network settings after running qa flag. If you see it, then you are good to install a cfw.
You must login or register to view this content. run this on your ps3 if you need. It won't hurt if you actually are already qa flagged.

Just verify your folder structure:
fat32formattedflashdriveroot/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

Use the furthest right most usb port of the ps3.

Here are some rebugs you can try:

Also, just noticed, but i don't know anything about the debug update option. Afaik it is not needed.
