Post: PS3 fan not going off

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello NGU Smile I'm having an issue with my PS3 fan not cutting off once the console is powered off. Not really a major issue but the only way to get it to go off is to just enter the homebrew that I use to control the speed once I go into it it will go to the normal speed and shut off when the console shuts off. I've never had this problem before I haven't switched firmwares in a while.

So when you turn off your PS3, the fan still keeps going? I might have a solution for you. Turn on your CFW, and make sure you are logged in with CCAPI, and all that good stuff. Now, on your PC, go to your web browser. Type in your CFW PS3's Ip in the search bar. It should bring up your multiMAN/Irisman/mmCM. Scroll down until you see the fan settings. Lower your fan speed just a bit, but not too much. We don't want you overheating don't we now? Next, just lower the fan speed a bit, and your PS3 should stop roaring outloud while your PS3 is off. Need help with this quote me back to send you my Skype.

Cheers, Hydrogen

I am suspecting that everything on the console is off, but the fan. The chips play no part in the powering the fan, so it would not overheat. If the chips WERE running when the console is off and the fan is still spinning, then lowering the fan speed would cause damage because (since he is not already using webman software), then the console is doing exactly what it needs by default, and you would be jeopardizing it.

This problem will be from software or a short.

You could try reinstalling your cfw or another, in hopes that all your settings default..
