Why would you want a 4.31 PS3?
Just get a 3.55 OFW, and that's the fastest way to actually start jailbreaking it.
Yes, you can go online. All you need to do is jailbreak, go up some firmwares, then spoof yourself to go online.

As long as the console you buy can be jailbroken, you should be fine. Why on 4.31 firmware? If you want to jailbreak a console it doesn't matter what firmware it's on. You can jailbreak it and put it on any firmware from 3.55 and up. That goes for cfw and ofw.

well if u want to just jailbreak it yourself u might aswell get a ps3 that is already on 3.55 or lower, but if u want to downgrade and jailbreak thats a whole different story, if your planning on downgrading your self check here for more info You must login or register to view this content.

if you get the ps3 on OFW 4.31 you are going to have to downgrade to 3.55 then from there u can install a jailbreak firmware, and yes u can mod online as long as u protect your cid by spoofing it and also using antiban on games that require it, usually the newer games like bo2 ghosts AW bo3. otherwise u will get banned

Thanks for all of your answers, now I get it, I can't really find a 3.55 fw one that is the lowest i found and lowest price i saw for this console. I am still waiting untill the summer because prices may drop and i dont really have the money now. I won't downgrade myself i will buy the service off someone around here

I can provide you with a guy that I bought my 3.55 OFW from. He is from Amazon and sells 3.55's around 175-210$ depends on the GB. I checked yesterday, and they have some in stock for 80GB for 180-189.
Michael's Games and Parts are 100% Satisfied 5 tars, and it is also were I bought my 3.55 back then. Here go to this link and click "products" find the PS3s that are picture of them standing up, and that also have 3.55 on the name. You must login or register to view this content.
