CCAPI doesn't null out a CID. You just have to put it back on your console, using whichever way you had done before. So if you had gotten it through your email, then yes, just copy it to CCAPI and set as your IDPS. Warning: firmware changes and/or CCAPI update on the PS3 do result in loss of CCAPI activation, hence why you "lost" your CID.
