My target manager works fine, that is, when my ip settings are set to automatic. As soon as i set a static ip and the default gateways etc it cannot connect or find the ps3. Is there a way around this? i cannot pull host with anything other than open NAT.
*Bonus question: how come i have to go through my internet settings every time i restart my ps3 to get target manager to connect?
ps: sorry if this is in the wrong format/ place.
ps2: all my settings are as should be as far as i can tell.

Yes it is the correct section
First off I would follow this tutorial just to double/triple check all the settings and what not are 100% correct.
If they are but you are still having issues quote me and I will help you further, in the mean time I will think of what else could be causing this.

Still doesnt work :/ one thing that might be important is the fact that it used to work on windows 7 when i was using my old ps3. instead of sharing my network exactly like that, i use this setup: You must login or register to view this content.
This works absolutely fine when my network settings are on automatic, as soon as i switch to manual it cannot detect it.

If I'm right I don't believe you can put a manual IP or connection settings. Must all be auto to connect.
i think that might be the case, isn't a problem so far as my ps3 has kept the same ip for the last 3 days. Anyone know why i have to go through my ps3's internet settings every time i restart it to get prodg to connect? that's the last connection problem that still stands.

As long as you have Ethernet connected before boot it should find IP after a few seconds. Shouldn't have to do a test each time, but honestly as long as it works I wouldn't complain. Ps quote me so I see you replied.
