Post: Console freeze on start up. Help/Advice needed.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Looking for some help/advise please.

I've been getting this strange screen (see picture) and console freeze on start up the last few days. My console has also been freezing a lot more since this started happening. Just wondering if anyone knows what could be causing this, or, how to sort it?

I'm running Overflow 4.78 cfw dex, Lexicon sprx & eboot, GNXKS update.rpf on a phat console.

Any help/ideas are appreciated, thanks in advance Smile

No never do that, do something that is verified and trusted source. Because of that you may corrupt your system. But for someone reason this looks like YLOD. As I've gotten this screen when I had it, applying pressure to the system made it change colors and such. Recovery mode can be accessed:

1. Turn off your PS3.

2. Hold down the power button and wait for your PS3 to turn on and off.

3. Once it has turned off, hold the power button until you hear 2 beeps.

4. When you hear the 2 beeps let go of the power button.

5. Plug in your controller and press the PS button.

6. The Recovery menu should be on your screen now!

Ahh! So exactly the same way you would on ofw, I guessed wrongly that it might have been different lol.

So if the downgrader sends me a new console I should change the cfw straight away then? Can I go straight from 4.80 to a different 4.80?

Yes, or any CFW if Toggle QA is enabled. I just recommend a Rebug or ITA CFW. Other known CEX versions would be Rogero. Anyways, attempt to access it and if able to, update and remove any discs. If not, then it's probably YLOD.

Managed to get the guy to back down a bit eventually, he's gonna fix it for me and send it back. Hopefully it works this time!

Thanks man, I'll give you a shout once it's back with me Smile

I am going to close this thread since there is nothing else to do other than waiting on your next one to come, hopefully you have better luck this time, and just make another thread if you need further assistance with your other cfw when it gets there.

Thread closed!
