My disk reader is broke, so I can't just stick one in my system and copy it through Multiman, like every tutorial I can find, says to do. Are there certain debug settings I need to have set up, and if so what are they? I'm just generally lost. Any help would be great. Thanks.

What do you mean? Your bluray player or laser has nothing to do with USB slots. Whether or not your system reads disc, it should read USB ports.

You would just connect to your PS3 using its ip address thru Filezilla or another FTP client.
