so i want to replace my 80gb hdd with a new 1TB hdd do you guys this will cause anything harm to my ps3 by any chance ? am i going to lose my jailbreak
and do i have to backup my data then restore (because i dont want anything from the old hdd)

no u will not lose your jailbreak but i dont think thats the best hard drive to buy its pricey and its a 5400 rpm you better getting a 7200 rpm drive check around amazon im pretty you will find a cheaper one.

In my experience, the bigger WD hdds are the ones that will shit out on you. Seagate ftw! (imo)


To install to your ps3:
1. Install the new hdd into your ps3
2. Boot ps3 into recovery
3. Select option "restore ps3 system"
this will format the new hdd to the ps3 and wipe everything, games, saves, etc
you will be brought to a black screen asking for your last syscall(last cfw installed)
4. Reinstall your cfw
