Me personally, after converting from CEX to DEX via Rebug, I always install 3.55 DEX Downgrader, then I install my firmware of choice (4.65 v1.02 PS3ITA DEX). But for you, if you enjoy Rebug, then you should install 4.80.1 Rebug D-REX Edition. Don't forget to have a Debug EBOOT.BIN for all of your games, and also be sure to turn on Webman, Cobra, and Debug Mode if you decide on going the Rebug route.

Well speaking in terms of the CID, which is what that option "Change PS3 Active ID" does. It sets your CID from 84 (or whatever it is) to 82. As that's the target type, so in order to gain PSN access you must change it to CEX target.

Now, there has been some rare times that I have not had to change my CID as it didn't change. It was very rare and only happened with 2 previous systems I owned, not sure what decides that.

I've been told it happens after updating from the CFW you converted to DEX on. For example, if you converted on 4.70 you'd have to change CID. But if you updated to 4.78 then you wouldn't need to. Haven't tested it out, but yeah you are one of those rare cases. So enjoy it :p

Honestly I wouldn't mind downgrading back to 3.55 and having DEX CFW if anyone could help out I guess I'm technically on DEX but I'd rather have a full DEX CFW
