I think the solution is the same if you uploaded a bad dump without verifying.

Others will correct me but I think you soft bricked your console. You're going to have to solder your e3 cable to the tristate.

Question for others more experienced: This sounds crazy but, is it possible to "transplant" a dump from another ps3 running the same FW and model number to one that has this problem?

When you flash a bad backup to a ps3 and then restart your console, you will receive GLOD. This is fixable by flashing a good backup to the console (if you have one..)
It's permabricked if you don't have a good backup..

I don't believe that is possible.. but you can transplant a physical NOR chip from one ps3 to another (difficult)..assuming you have matching dumps to go with it..

ps3er
Haxor!
update.bin is the e3flasher update. the switch pattern you described was for flashing a dump to the nor chip. but if you dont have the original dump then you might be screwed. sry bro.

Soldering a wire from the Tristate to a ground is for repair. If you flash a bad backup and the console will no longer power up in order to flash a good backup to it, then you use the wire method in order to power the console so you may do so. It won't fix anything just doing that. You can grab a dump but you already corrupted it. I've heard of methods of repairing a corrupted backup via HXD, but I don't know much else about that and can almost guarantee it is not fixable if it is too far gone...
