I bought it brand new so I would say that it isn't, but tried it in a non modded console and it installled and runs perfectly fine without any updates needed? I really confused lol

Make sure you quote me back so I see you replied. What game is it? I'd try to update via mm or install the pkg to see if issue persists.

It's naruto ultimate ninja storm collection, I'm not even playing it to mod I just want to play it and also it has now told me I need to update it on the OFW PS3 so it must be to do with that? Where would I get update files from?

*Edit I tried updating via multi man on my CFW PS3 it says latest version installed but it obviously needs an update

Maybe not, check game data utility to see if game is updated. Is that game even out? Cause I looked it up and first off only shows for next gen and it available for preorder only.

In multiman, you could press triangle on the game and try the option "fix permissions" and try again..

Maybe play around with the debug setting:
Boot Mode - System Software mode (or try Release Mode)

That would only fix actual boot issues. Not xmb launch, this is an eboot error.

The game is out bought on Amazon and it works on my OFW PS3 the game isn't updated but also tells me that the latest version installed if you can Skype me in a few hours I can show you exactly what happens and what I mean? I'm busy until about half 4 but my Skype is cptn-hitsugaya I will be back a bit later to try any solutions people have come up with
