Sounds like you have the Yellow Light of Death or YLOD. You can easy fix this multiple ways depending on the severity of your system. I would say you'd need a new motherboard, just some work done. You can try finding some tuts on how to fix YLOD & repair guides.

If you need any help quote back.

Changing the motherboard will only create more problems..its not so simple as that.

Apply new thermal paste (arctic silver 5) and if that does not help, the console will need a reflow, a reball, or to be replaced Sal

No, I don't have the YLOD. It just shuts off when I play for 5 minutes, because it overheats.

YLOD can be any type of brick, but most commonly referred to being bricked after overheating..

Changing the motherboard would rid you of your jailbreak.. You would aslo need to bring over the disc drive and wifi board (if its a fat) (youd basically be getting a new ps3..)

Aside from that, not all models are the same size, shape, fitment, plugs

You are overheating and should be wise when deciding to run the console until after repair.
Change thermal paste (use arctic silver 5 only), and if it doesn't run after that, the console will need a reflow or a reball, or to be replaced (as in just get a new jb ps3).

If whatever bdd you are using didn't come with whatever mobo you are using, yep it will need remarry. (if it uses logic board - fats only)
