Post: [HELP] Modifying Content of a Retail PKG File

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello guys !

I have a PS3 on firmware 3.55 with a broken Blu-ray drive, which means I can't run any homebrew I install...

I would like to add mods to my games and, to do so, I have used some PS3 tools to extract PKG files, to change .ff or .bin files, etc., as I can't run*any*file manager*homebrew such as Comgenie Awesome File Manager nor any FTP server tool.*I want to use the Data Transfer Utility to transfer game patches on my updated PS3 system.

However, I have an issue with rebuilding*a PKG correctly. For example, I succeed at extracting the PKG file, at modifying the files I want to change, but I can't get my PKG rebuilt correctly. Sometimes I get the error 80010017 on my updated PS3 after using the Data Transfer Utility, sometimes the tools I use on my computer give me error messages (concerning PARAM.SFO or EBOOT.bin files).

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this ; that would be VERY appreciated ! I've spent I don't know how many hours last days to make it work... But it doesn't. :'Winky Winky

Thanks !

MAX

Well that error is from your eboot. So figure out what you're doing wrong there.
