yes, but only in Bo2, green flickering and sometimes the entire screen goes dark.

you should have said that in the first place lol, thats what happened before my old ps3 got YLOD, it also can be caused by a damaged hdmi cable the green flickering but as your xmb icons look weird i doubt its the hdmi as your icons aren't displaying currently. like they said, seems your RSX is playing up. since its a fat ps3 kinda to be expected, what are you average temps? though i can't say i've ever seen messed up xmb icons like yours on mine it was just showing flickering coloured shit on screen

Yeah thats why I got muddled up, I thought you were just having the problems on xmb as the thread title says. Probs YLOD, same shit like the red ring of death on an xbox. You will get red screen and shit all the time.

i've never got the RROD but i have a Falcon, 2 jaspers, 1 tranity and 2 corona v3 consoles when it comes to xbox but my trinity needs fixing not sure if its the hana chip or the apu, pretty sure its the apu as console had alot of dust build up but its not a red ring its the messed up display and console freeze you get just before the RROD. not sure if slims get rrod but i know they can get a red fault light on both the power supply and the console

if its the gpu it will need a re-ball, you can do a temp fix which in some cases fixes for good but i wouldn't recommend, if the mother board is bent and soft i wouldn't bother getting it fixed it will happen again, just save up and get a new one there cheap as shit if you do them yourself. recommend getting a slim or a fat thats in good condition and adding cooling mods to keep console under 60 degrees Celsius, mine never goes over 59. i just increased my consoles fan speed to 45% and made a better airflow and it has solved my issue but in spring and summer its really hot and humid so i have to increase speed to 65 - 90 and put a fan on it if i don't use my air con other wise my console gets to 80+ degrees

To make sure this is the issue, try 3.55 OFW. You'll know for sure on there.
