I am still trying to understand how safely play online being on Rebug 4.80.1 DEX and before the OFW 4.81 update I did the following:

Disconnect internet connection
Change from EID0 to EID5 to spoof DEX to CEX
PSN Ninja
PSN Patch
Connect to the internet
PSN Login
Start game


Now I am reading if you're on DEX you don't have to spoof but some are recommending to use SEN or PSNpatch. I am a bit lost and now with the latest OFW 4.81 update I am not sure what to do.

Can anyone explain why DEX does not need spoofing and whether I still need to change EID etc..

Just spoof it to be safe. Its what I'm doing and I'm on the same firmware.

I'm on 4.70.1 D-Rex and i don't spoof, it's not really necessary to do it. I personally just load whatever game I want to play through webman then just hit R2+ Triangle and it does the exact same thing PSN Ninja and PSN Patch does in just a click of 2 buttons and you don't have to open any homebrews unless you run games through multiman or irishman.

Thanks, but this means I still need to install webman that does the spoofing. In any case having console on DEX is not enough? Is there another way instead of Webman by using just the rebug toolbox?
