(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); A few months back I bought a PS3 and used an E3 Flasher to downgrade it, the process went fine and I got some games for free, did some modding online on GTA. I got bored and I wanted to sell the PS3 to my mum for Netflix and things like that.

I wanted to take the CFW (Rebug 4.80.1 DEX) off so she wouldn't have any trouble using it. I tried installing 4.80 OFW on to it with no success, then 3.55, again no success. I saw another post saying just format the HDD in a computer and then install and update via usb. I did this and put the HDD back into the PS3 and it said system storage corrupted (which i expected) and that i needed to put on an update via USB.

I have tried many different firmwares and all to no success. I know the folders are right, I am 100% sure that is not the problem and I know the USB works.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful.

Thanks.

Nope, I have tried several times now and all it says is that no applicable update data has been found. I have tried both USB ports and they work because the controller is working from both of them.

Verify you are using a fat32 formatted usb flash drive (and not force formatted with a program)

Verify your folder structure is fat32formattedusbflashdriveroot/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
