Sounds to me like it is getting hot, you might want to check if it needs cleaned and new thermal paste.

Sounds like your ps3 has suffered damages from overheating. You can try to change the thermal paste and hope for the best. If that doesn't help, the console will need a reflow, a reball, or to be replaced.
It sounds like the guy probably did a reflow on your ps3...its a cheap fix that can last a day, a month, a year you never really know..

Once damages from overheating have happened, it's unlikely you can repair it easily. It's best to change the thermal paste on the CPU+GPU every so often, and to keep your console clean, to prevent this from happening..
