(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys,

So I had a ps3 running rebug 4.78.1 REX (CEX) and decided I wanted to upgrade my HDD (from a 80gb to a 320GB)

I backed up my whole ps3 through the ps3 backup utility to my external 1TB hard drive and everything went well. I tried to install the new hard drive and i watched a tutorial on how to do so. He said to install CFW from the recovery menu then use the restore data utility. Everytime I went to "upgrade my firmware" it would give me an error and just wouldnt work.

I chucked my old HDD back in and enabled QA flag mode and used Rogero's downgrade tool to downgrade back to CFW 3.55. Solved the problem (for what I thought) and updated with the same rebug firmware I was previously using (rebug 4.78.1 REX (CEX)) from the recovery menu as that is what pops up when inserting a new hard drive.*

It started up now and I lost all data as expected, but package manager and all other jailbreak files are not present. Went to system info and apparently running 4.78OFW with the new blue psn logo??*

I'm really worried that I just lost my jailbreak from doing something and as I write this im attempting to restore my old data off of the external hard drive I backed up on to.*

So did I lose my jailbreak? Am I spoofed on a version that I don't know of?

If it helps I had spoof 4.75 installed on my CFW previously but it looks like a whole new version has been installed.

Thanks

*UPDATE*

Alright now I restored all previous ps3 apps and settings from my backup and common jailbreak features like INSTALL PACKAGE FILES aren't there, meaning i'm on OFW. I think I know where I went wrong, as I had a minecraft for ps3 disc inserted while updating. As of now I can't restore in XMB due to commonly getting an error. I've been trying to update through the recovery menu and the ps3 is urging me to connect storage that has update data of "4.55 or later".

As I restored although, I got all my apps back (rebug toolbox, multiman, etc.) But am unable to run them with an error blocking me in the starting them.

I've tried firmware: Rebug 4.78.2 REX for updating, where it completes successfully but dosent seem to make a change to the system. I also tried flashing it with OFW 3.55 but claims that the data is corrupted, so thats a bust.

Are there any other firmwares or anything I can try out before I get the suggestion to flash my ps3? I'm sorry but I just wanted to know if there was another way to go about this because I bought this ps3 secondhand off someone and he flashed it previously with an E3 flasher. Unfortunately for me, those gizmos are high end stuff and I can't afford them.

So Is there anything else I can do? I am about to attempt Rogero's downgrader (even thoughh I know it will give me an error) but thats the best of it.

Cheers
